Ik was dus opgelicht via Vinted en ik ben er niet erg trots op. Leest u even mee; het kan u zomaar geld (en voornamelijk frustratie) besparen.

Lang verhaal niet heel kort, maar ik verkoop natuurlijk fucking veel via dit platform (straks weer pakketje wegbrengen €125 hoppa) en de bedoeling was een legere kledingkast dus ik kocht er eigenlijk nooit iets ervoor terug.
Tot ik kennis maakte met het merk Chrome Hearts. Veel te duur voor een simpele ziel als ik en bovendien bijna niet te krijgen (hetgeen ik wilde). “Kijk vooral op Vinted” raadde mensen mij aan en ja hoor, daar zag in ‘m: de hoodie die ik wilde in de maat die ik wilde.

“Weet je wat, ik bied de helft” dacht ik in een vrolijke bui, zonder enige illusies want het artikel stond er net een paar weken te koop. Maar wat schetste mijn verbazing? De Franse verkoper accepteerde mijn (alsnog ridicuul hoge, maar ja vlaag van verstandsverbijstering) bod van €200. Blij als ik was (ik nam zelfs voor ook vaker biedingen te accepteren omdat het mij zo blij maakte) maakte ik direct het geld over naar Vinted (“straks bedenkt hij zich nog”) en oh, wat was ik blij toen ik de melding kreeg dat het pakket onderweg was naar het afhaalpunt. Ik bedankte de verkoper uitvoerig (“thank you! Thank you”) en hij reageerde dat het voor hem geen probleem was (“no problem”).

Ik weet het nog goed; de trui waarop ik toen al verliefd geworden was, zou de vrijdag erop arriveren, ergens op een afhaalpunt tussen thuis en mijn werk. Ik zou ‘s avonds bij mijn moeder gaan eten en kon niet wachten haar reactie te zien op mijn aanwinst . Weet je wat, dacht ik, ik haal hem op, maar maak hem niet direct open. Dan kan ik me de hele weg naar huis erop verheugen (ja, ik ben raar).

Dat was tenminste het voornemen. Totdat de medewerkster mij een verfrommeld en klein papieren tasje overhandigde welke veel te licht aanvoelde. Goed, dacht ik nog, ik ken de trui niet, misschien is het wel een hele lichte kwaliteit (naïef! Naïef)! En dus nam ik het kleine papieren tasje (“wie verstuurt er nu zo’n dure trui in zo’n tasje”) mee naar huis.

U raadt het al; al wat erin zat, geen hoodie. Gedesillusioneerd haalde ik er enkele lege plastic zakken uit, waaronder zelfde de originele zak van de Chrome Hearts-trui (💔). En als huzarenstuk een witte longsleeve van Topshop die dus in niks op mijn droomtrui leek, die in gedachten mooier en mooier werd.

Ik kan niet beschrijven hoe ik me voelde, het gevoel van onrecht, en vooral de noodzaak te moeten vechten om mijn gelijk te krijgen. Want ja, je moet vertellen waarom je niet tevreden bent, en dat moet je eerst met de verkoper oplossen. Wat ga je zeggen tegen iemand die je moedwillig geflest heeft? Aahhh de frustratie als ik eraan terugdenk!

Wat volgde was een heel “gevecht” (al had ik mijn verlies al genomen en met mezelf afgesproken dat dit niet mijn humeur zou beïnvloeden), waarbij de verkoper mij beschuldigde als oplichter (“Topshop verkopen ze helemaal niet in Frankrijk” en meer van dat soort gein) en me zelfs bedreigde (altijd leuk). Hier volgt een bloemlezing van zijn reacties.

Why the fuck are you doing that ??? are you not ashamed ??? this is not the fucking item that i have sent you !!!! i NEVER sent you a white shirt !!!! !you are just trying to scam me ! I have never sent this fucking white shirt !!!!! You really think that i will be dumb as much ???? Of course you had to open your package before confirmed the order, so why i would put a white shirt instead of a black hoodie ?????? Are you not ashamed of yourself ???? The parcel wasn’t taped like that !!!!! And i can proove it !!! I dont know how you can do this to someone, i am a young student who don’t have money and i have been so great to you to make it for 200 !!! And know you scam me with a shirt that you have buyed after you opened the parcel ???? What kind of human being are you ?? You lieeeeee !!!!! How can you lieeee like this ???? Fuck i have post it 3 days ago rhe postman can confirm it there was a hoodie in it !!!! I can’t believe how smart you are to scam somebody like this !!!! Send me a picture of the shirt and the label, and let’s laught 🤣🤣 i am in france this shirt is not sell in france you are so fuckeeeedddd Why tou don’t answer ???? You have something to hide ??? The vinted support is already notified of this, with proof that i have send a BLACK HOODIE and not a FUCKING WHITE SHIRT so i recommand you to juste pay for it, 200 is really cheap for a chrome hearts hoodie, otherwise your vinted profile while be blocked and your « blog » exposed. You tried to attack the wrong fish, i told you that. So know juste stop you acting, you think that is going to work but no, i have proof and you don’t, so now do what you have to do, the dutch police is notified to ! I know you see my messages, and you also know that i am right and that you have remohe the hoodie to put a white shirt in the package, be honest and please juste pay the 200, you owe me that, be honest please Stop this just pay, 200 is really cheap for a chrome hearts hoodie, juste be honest and stop to lie, you know that you receive the black hoodie. Pay and i’ll forget this whole fucking story, otherwise, I will file a complaint against you to the police officer, and i will expose you ! i have your identity thanks to your blog, and your adress of course. I let you 24h to be honest and just pay for that hoodie, otherwise i’ll go to the police office tomorow.
Miss, accept to refund me, you have paid for this hoodie but the money is freezed by vinted, this is ridiculous, you have payed for it so let me enjoy the money. Why you do something like that ?

Ik antwoordde als volgt (sarry, weer Engels, vertaling beschikbaar op aanvraag):
You know very well you scammed me. Vinted is on it and there is a lot putting into effect now. I don’t wish to communicate with you anymore. It is up to them now. You can communicate through them.

Nou, veel efforts… Vinted is Frans, oplichter is Frans en ik had een beetje het idee dat dit Neerlandsche meisje zich een beetje meer moest bewijzen dan de Frans sprekenden. Vinted was ervan overtuigd dat ik het verkeerde pakket ontvangen had, dat er iets verwisseld moet zijn geweest bij de transporteur. Een heel getouwtrek volgde maar mijn slotpleidooi gaf blijkbaar wel de doorslag.

1. a hoodie this size would NEVER fit in the package with the label. I have a hoodie which is much smaller (as ladies XS and not oversized) as comparison.

I told you I already had my doubts when I got the parcel and that’s why I opened with video. So that is why I know nothing happened during shipping; there could have never fitted a hoodie in the first place!!

2. The scammer says “I didn’t tape the parcel like that” when I showed him a picture. There is NO other tape on the parcel so that means that he sent the parcel without tape?? That is of course none sense!!

3. One of the first things he defends is “I’m just a poor student”. How can a “poor student” even sell a USD800-hoodie (original price) in the first place?? And all other expensive things he offers.

4. He also claims, even before I tell him what white shirt was in the parcel, that “I bet the brand of the short you received is not even sold in France”. Why would he say that? It means he thought about this when planning the scam, so that he can state this! Bad news for him, the brand is NOT sold in the Netherlands.

5. Big red flag: although the sweater was only on Vinted for a MONTH, which is not long for a popular item like this (!!), he accepted my offer for 50% of the price immediately (!!), without ANY discussion. While he knew he could have sold it for much more money without a problem. Why would he do this?

There are SO many signs that I think you can only do one thing as Vinted and that is to reverse the transaction. Scammers should not be part of this brilliant platform.

Het duurde en het duurde en ik had mijn verlies al afgeschreven, maar opeens kreeg ik een verlossend bericht. Of althans; ik kreeg opeens mijn geld terug. Na 5 maanden! Ik had het niet meer verwacht, dus het was een welkome verrassing.

Het geld is inmiddels alweer belegd (haha grapje; ik heb er wat anders voor gekocht) en de Chrome Hearts-hoodie heb ik uit mijn wensenlijstje geschrapt. Het kan verkeren. Zo leuk zijn te toch eigenlijk niet.

Moraal van het verhaal: blijf je verstand gebruiken en als je vermoedt dat er iets mis is; weiger het pakje dan. Vinted biedt kopersbescherming maar je moet er wel voor op je knietjes.
